The forum post with an explanation is here.

Books I am thinking about releasing:
My Life in France (Movie Tie-In Edition)
Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, No. 2)
The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials, Book 2)
Le Tour Gourmand (in German)

That obviously means that I have to read at least one of them by the end of February.

I could also part with some cookbooks, but I would not necessarily like to wild release them:
(Yes, that was a hint, but beware -- only the first three books are in English, the rest is in German)

Cocktails (Cookery Library)
Vietnam on a Plate: A Culinary Journey
The Marmite Cookbook
Die sensationelle Kreta-Diät -- definitely not wild releasing this.
Witzigmanns Kreta-Kochbuch -- same here.
Das Bubba Gump Shrimp Kochbuch
Schnell und fein mit Blätterteig
Pfälzisch-Saarländische Küchenschätze
Cocktails

If you know a great location for wild releasing cookbooks, even German ones, let me know! I could be your book pimp and send them to you.

Just want to post invitations to folks to join in two upcoming challenges and to remind about another.

First of all, the ongoing Never Judge a Book by its Cover (NJABBIC), which has thankfully lost it's extraneous apostrophe (and before you ask, yes mine was an intentional tongue in cheek), is now being hosted by Secretariat. I have stayed clear of this challenge in the past, but as I release so many books, I decided to give it a try and am quite enjoying it. http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/449069

BCinDC is hosting a release in memory of young N-R-Jyzer, daughter of ResQGeek, who was killed while riding her bike last fall. http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/449953 The release is on what would have been her birthday, and there are suggestions for themed books at the above link. (It ties in nicely with some other challenges, such as the Valentine Challenge (http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/449420).

Finally, I'm again hosting the Wine + Food + BookCrossing Challenge in March. Any way you can theme a book to Food/drink/eating/cooking or anything related is acceptable. The main purpose is to have fun and release books. You all are welcome to join in and can read more here:

And in forum news:

Announcements from BC Headquarters also seem to be on the FB and twitter feeds, if you're into that sort of thing.

A couple of tidbits that were mentioned in threads that were of interest to me are here:

news on plaintext/mobile version from support:

(and in a couple of other threads, too)

On World Book Night: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/33/447421/7107225

On the prenumbered labels in the books registered count:

On printable wishlists:

And a question/poll from Headquarters on if you prefer the tiny sticker that fits nicely (as it) on the spines of books in the square/as is format or a rounded one.
