I am pretty new at this, so I do not have a lot to compare it to. But yes, the glare is very low. I have not tried it yet on a sunny day at the beach... ;-) I also have a Sony Reader Touch PRS-600 and the glare is pretty bad. I have to tilt it to get rid of the glare and read comfortably. Apparently the newer Sony Touch 650 uses the same "ink" technology as the Kindle and the glare is equally low.
